The Child, Adolescent, and Family Services Department (CAFS) provides clinical services to children up to 18 years of age and their families in their own
homes, at SMHC, or other community settings.
These clinical services include, but are not limited to:
• Assessment and Evaluation
• 24/7 Crisis Intervention
• Individual, Group and Family counseling
• Case Management)
• Therapeutic Mentoring
• Psychiatric Services
• Consultation and outreach services to schools
• School-based, community, and home-based mental health services
• Child Impact Seminars for families going through divorce
CAFS strives to provide parents with real opportunities to increase their coping and problem-solving skills when dealing with their child’s mental health issues. With counseling and support available for the entire family, it is CAFS’s belief that a child can gain a more positive self-image and learn to handle problems more effectively, which benefits everyone.
The Center for Learning and Attention Disorders
The Center for Learning and Attention Disorders (CLAD) addresses the needs of children and families who are coping with learning, attention, or behavior
problems in the home, school, or the workplace. In addition, CLAD provides consultation and training services for schools and other agencies as needed.
Current services include:
• Psychological Evaluations
• Psychotherapeutic Services
• Parent Training
• Consultation and Training Services for schools and agencies
• Development of Positive Behavior Support Plans
• Intervention Services, including cognitive remediation, behavioral management strategies, family education and counseling/psychotherapy services
