COMMUNITY BRIDGES

Community Bridges is a program that matches compassionate volunteers from the community in a one-to-one friendship with persons receiving mental health services.

A Community Bridges volunteer spends one to two hours a week helping to expand his/her friend’s world through trust, caring, and the sharing of activities. Volunteers and their friends share interests such as picnics in the park, movies or conversations over steaming cups of coffee.

Community Bridges offers:

  • Flexible hours
  • Short-term and long-term opportunities
  • Training
  • On-going supervision
  • Supportive, friendly atmosphere
  • Activities with other Community Bridges participants, including picnics, camping, museums, theatres and more
