COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAM
The Community Support Program (CSP) serves over six hundred adult individuals, and their families, who experience disabling mental illness. CSP is a state-supported service of the Center, organized into two teams that provide clinical and psychiatric rehabilitation services to consumers. Housing, vocational and community volunteer programs serve consumers from all teams.
Our mission is to support each individual’s (and family’s) recovery from mental illness so that each person can lead a contributing, integrated and self-directed life.
Our vision is to be the leading regional treatment and psychiatric rehabilitation resource for people dealing with severe mental illness.
We Strive to Create a Recovery Environment that :
- Challenges individuals with mental illness to expand and exceed personal expectations, erase stigma and promotes constant improvement of organizational performance.
- Respects and affirms each person’s individuality, choices, boundaries, responsibility, personal desires and strength.
- Promotes feelings of importance, usefulness, pride and self-respect.
- Builds hope through optimism, friendliness, care and respect.
- Promotes collaborative relationships with other providers, consumer and family groups, agencies, and natural helpers.
- Teaches and supports consumers to contribute to the larger community.
- Reaches out to others in the community through education and outreach.
- Takes risks, nurtures and tries innovative ideas to be on the leading edge of creative and effective services.
